You can’t help but be charmed as soon as you drive into this quiet pocket neighborhood, with its own “hidden” park, and easy access to both Maplewood and South Orange downtowns and train stations.

Visit for the location, fall in love with the charm and warmth, flow, and space – inside and out. Bathed in light, it is at once classic and fresh, polished and comfortable, spacious and cozy. Every nook and cranny is well used and has been carefully attended to. The eat-in kitchen, with its enviable amount of cabinet and counter space makes cooking and entertaining a delight. When you’re not in the kitchen, lounge in the living room by the fire, in the bright sunroom, on the picture perfect porch, or on the patio, in the thoughtfully landscaped backyard.

Upstairs, each bedroom has ample space. The third floor suite with its own full bath has many uses – for short- or long-term guests.

Come see for yourself!

Dear Future Homeowners,

Welcome to 26 Arcularius Terrace! There have been just two owners since this house was built in 1926. The Burwells owned this home for almost 70 years before we purchased it in 1993. Oh my, what wonderful times we’ve had here! Our two lovely daughters were infants when we moved in in 1993, and now are out on their own.

Arcularius Terrace is located in the Orchard Park neighborhood of Maplewood. It’s a great area for kids with very little traffic. The nicely landscaped park is just a block away and very well used. There are plenty of playmates nearby, at last count, ten young families on our street alone.

The bus stop (for Marshall School) is at the top of the block and when children reach 3rd grade they walk the three blocks to Jefferson School. Middle and High School students can walk as well.

Maplewood Village is a 15 minute walk away and I want to stress that it is a flat walk, no hills!

Great eats and entertainment choices abound within the town and also in South Orange and Millburn, both nearby. The neighborhood is very accepting, very diverse, and celebrates its musical, culinary and artistic talents within our local cafes, parks and storefronts. Every July, the town puts on its own festival called Maplewoodstock. It’s a lively weekend of local and some big act musical groups, good fun! My advice is to take your bicycle. It’s a great way to get around and this is a bike friendly town.

Newark Airport is an easy 20 minute drive, and the Midtown Direct offers numerous trains to get you into and out of the city.

In closing, this is a very special unique home. Physically, it has solid bones with handsome detail that one can no longer find. We’ve enjoyed family suppers, birthday celebrations, summer and winter barbecues and annual Arcularius block parties. It won’t be hard to fall in love with this area.
