Dear Future Homeowners,
193 Franklin Avenue was our first house and it has been a wonderful home to live in. There are many things we love about this house, including the layout, the central air conditioning and the location. While a front porch would never have been on my list of must-haves, it is one of my favorite things about our home. On summer mornings, we frequently enjoy breakfast there. When the weather cools down, we often have dinner there as well. The back of the house also has a small but private porch where we frequently enjoy our morning coffee.
The backyard has a tree that’s just right for swings or a hammock. It has served as a shady retreat for our family on many hot summer afternoons. Our children spend hours playing in the fully fenced backyard, which has been especially important over the last few months.
The large third floor has provided plenty of extra space for our family. It’s served as both a space for our children to play and our frequent visitors to stay. The large kitchen with ample counter space and up-to-date appliances has been a great space to cook in and the open layout means that the cook never misses out on the conversation when we entertain.
During our time here, the neighborhood has welcomed the Wine Barrel, the SOMA General Store, and the Bread Stand, all within an easy walk of the house. We’ve also loved being in the thick of the Hilton Neighborhood’s annual Porchfest (with live music on porches around the neighborhood) for the last few years. The farmers’ market is also just two short blocks away. We’ve also loved being able to walk to elementary school with our children in the morning, to the library and to two nearby parks.
We have loved living in this house and we hope you will too!
